Our Mission

  

Facilitating healing to Dauphin County communities through trauma-informed education to increase resiliency and enhance overall well-being.

What is Trauma?

Trauma is the result of an individual’s experience with an event that causes emotional distress that overwhelms their ability to cope, and has a lasting effect that disrupts their ability to function productively in there everyday life.

unresolved trauma can impact your health and life expectancy.

Having someone to share your trauma experience with helps to heal the trauma.

Everyone experiences some type of trauma in their life at one time or another.

What may be traumatic to one person may not be traumatic to another.

Healing Circles

  

What is a healing circle?

Connecting with others to:

· Share feelings and to support each group member

· Honor and respect each group member

· Create community

· Give voice to all

How does it work?

· Small groups: 10—12 people

· Meet for 1—1.5 hours

· Meet in community settings

· Facilitated by members of the ACE Committee
